SCARLINO - MEDIEVAL VILLAGE
The Medieval village of Scarlino, dating back to before the year 1000, is worth visiting for its historical value, its characteristic alleys and the medieval castle which, located at the highest point, allows you to admire the entire Gulf of Follonica up to the coasts of theElba Island.
The August 19th the village comes alive thanks to the “Careers”, a feature historical reenactment in costume with parades, archery competitions and relay races.
FOLLONICA AND CASTIGLIONE DELLA PESCAIA
These two tourist towns, together with Wingtip, are the closest centers, located respectively at approximately 5 and 15 minutes by car from the hotel.
Follonica, with its long coastal promenade, mostly pedestrianised, offers everything you would expect from a tourist resort: from beach clubs and bathrooms, restaurants and pizzerias, up to discos for those who love the early hours.
Castiglione della Pescaia, smaller and more picturesque with its medieval castle which looks down on the sea, offers beautiful beaches and the possibility of walking on its seafront with clubs open until late at night.
WING TIP
At about 15 minutes by car from the hotel, you will find the renowned Punta Ala tourist port which, like the Marina di Scarlino, offers the possibility of walking directly inside it among its various shops and clubs.
The location is famous for its beaches and for the golf courses which, with an overall length of mt. 6.168, I am definitely among the most evocative in Italy.
MASSA MARITTIMA
Massa Marittima it is an ancient village still enclosed in a city wallsYou will surely be enchanted by the timeless atmosphere of its alleys, where you can spend pleasant evenings in one of the many places.
Worthy of note are the Cathedral of San Cerbone, one of the most architecturally fascinating in the world, and the Source of Abundance; a fresco dated between 1265 and 1335, depicting penises hanging from a tree, which according to the main interpretation had a apotropaic function, that is to say of good wishes for abundant harvests.
